Juan Angel Fernandez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 61. He was born on November 5, 1964, in Nuevo León, Mexico, and lived a life filled with hard work, kindness, adventure, and, above all, love for his family.
Juan was a social, friendly, and outgoing man who had a special way of making others feel welcome. He enjoyed meeting people, sharing conversations, and lending a helping hand to those in need. His compassionate heart extended beyond his family and friends, as he found joy in visiting and helping the homeless, offering kindness to those who needed it most. His generosity and willingness to help others were a reflection of the good heart he carried throughout his life.
A hardworking man, Juan spent many years working in Florida as a mechanic in the sugar cane fields, where he dedicated himself to providing through his labor and determination. He later moved to San Antonio, where he continued his working years as a tow truck driver. His love for trucks and his strong work ethic were a part of who he was, and he took pride in the work he did.
While Juan worked hard, his greatest joy was found in the people he loved. His family was his world, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. Whether traveling long distances to visit loved ones, gathering together to share stories, or simply enjoying the laughter and company of his grandchildren, these were the moments that made him happiest. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he loved playing with them, creating memories that they will carry with them forever.
Juan had a personality and style all his own. He loved listening to corridos, watching Western movies, and embracing the Western way of life, including his appreciation for Native American culture. He loved to travel, sightsee, and explore new places, especially when those journeys brought him closer to family who lived far away. He also had a special fascination with scorpions, which could be seen in the decorations and keychains he enjoyed collecting, a unique interest that became part of his distinctive personality. Along with his love for dogs, trucks, and sweets, these little things brought him joy and made him even more memorable to those who knew him. Juan was truly one of a kind, and it was these special interests and personal touches that made him so uniquely himself.
Juan's life was made up of more than the places he traveled or the work he did. It was defined by the love he gave, the kindness he showed, the laughter he shared, and the memories he created with those around him. His friendly spirit, generous heart, and unmistakable personality will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though his family must now learn to live without his physical presence, his love will continue to guide them, and his memory will live on in every story told, every song remembered, and every moment shared in his honor.
Left to cherish his precious memory is his loving wife, Fabiola Fernandez, who stood beside him in life and will forever hold their memories close to her heart. He is also survived by his beloved children: Brenda Denise (David) Nieto, †Sarai Fernandez, Juan Angel (Lizette) Fernandez Jr., and Fabiola Ivette (Ciro). His legacy of love continues through his cherished grandchildren: Itzel, Angel, Emerson, Nicole, Jahziel, Jayleen, Yaretssi, Leilani, Nirvana, and Desiree, each of whom brought him immense joy and gave him countless reasons to smile.
Juan was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Agustin Fernandez and Dolores Huerta, who have now welcomed him home.
Though saying goodbye is never easy, his loved ones can find comfort in knowing that Juan's journey on this earth has ended, but his spirit and the love he shared will never be forgotten. May the Lord welcome him into His eternal kingdom, grant him everlasting peace, and comfort the hearts of all who mourn his passing.
