Marie was such a big light in my life and when she was still here, she helped me understand more about friendship and its value. This year without her has shown me so much about people's feelings and overall shown me more about loss. Ive felt such a hole in my heart without her. She sent me this picture when she did her captain audition for last year. I am so happy to have had her as both my captain and my friend. I know she would be achieving so much more if she were still here. I miss you marie. But I love you so so much more.

I cannot believe it's already been a year. I visited you on Saturday and although it was hard, I felt your presence, I miss you more than words can express and everyone is trying their hardest to stay strong for you. I miss you so much bee. I just wanna hear your sweet voice again.

Especially today, but truly every day.. you are in my thoughts. Your Mom shares photos and videos of you every day on her socials and it just lights up everyone's world. Thank you for the years and beautiful memories you gave us.

I've thought about you this entire year and you'll always be in my heart and in my home. If only there had been more time. Love.

It was weird walking into the bandhall the first day of band camp to decorate posters and not hear her laugh. I don’t think I realized how much I’d miss that laugh until I couldn’t hear it anymore. She’d be so happy Mr.Torch is back. Not a day goes by I don’t think about her. I still hope every night before I fall asleep that I’ll wake up and it was one horrible dream. Hopefully this is. All an awful dream. I want my best friend back. I don’t sleep well knowing it’s almost a year since she’s been gone. I miss her laughing about my knees being locked while marching. She would’ve loved this years show. I think that she’s still there in the bandhall. Today chairs fell over and that’s when I knew she was still with us. Sending us signs. But I want her back. Just one more day. We have so much to catch up on.

At the two football games we had together we sat next to eachother and found literally anything to joke about the whole time. After the games however, we would seat in the seats across from eachother and send silly snaps back and forth. She was such a funny girl and I'm so happy to have known her for how long I did and in the way I did. She's been an inspiration to me since the day I saw her and continues to be one to this day. I'm a little disappointed that I'm going into my first year of high school without her, but I'm happy I had some of my first year of guard with her. I miss her more everyday. I'm sure she's tossing the highest of tosses up in heaven.

We took a few pictures before my very first game as a guard member. She was super excited that I was doing guard and seemed happy for us to be doing guard for a while. I look back on it every now and again. I miss her.

It's been a month since what happened. It's sad to know it has been a month, it doesn't feel like it. I truly to miss the mornings at the band hall and just hearing her say "Izzyyy" in the most sleepiest voice. She would have her coffee from the sunshine house and just be yapping to everyone about anything. I can't help to feel so off when I see her photos or think of things at remind me of her. I think about my Maireze (that was the nickname i gave her) so much, at football games I pray for her that she doing better for in haven and for family. I miss her truly so much it's hard to know your gone. Sometimes I heard her laugh or her voice but when I see to look who it is, it's just someone else. I wish she was still here to see everything the band, friends and family has done for her. I miss you every single day Marie, I hope your doing better and a lot happier

It's been over a month now. It feels more unreal as more time passes. I can't simplify how much I miss you Marie. Everyday, I feel your presence more and more. Doing this Day of the Dead project is killing me, but I'm so happy that I'm honoring you. You've taught me spins and tosses and how to be confident, but now you've taught me how to really see if someone is okay or not. I feel like now, everybody has come together and tries to help each other. But I wish God didn't let you be a lesson to me or anyone else. I can't wait to see you again, and even share some hot Cheetos and a Red Bull.

Hard to believe she is gone.  She was a sweet girl. Knew her from when my daughter was in band and they went to state.

My favorite memory of Marie was when in band especially at the Disney trip she was kind and funny and that they were trying to get in the room (I stayed up for them to come back ((her, shae, and sharon)) until a certain point I was knocked out 😅) and when we got state in 2021.

RIP Marie i hope you are dancing up in heaven. i’m so sorry you had to go so soon, you meant the world to everybody. We all love you and miss you very much. I will make sure your memory is never forgotten. I will keep your memory alive. I love you, beautiful angel.

My heart is broken for your family and I pray for all your family and friends of our sweet Marie .My mom's heart is broken for you and it's been a challenging week. We met Marie thru band/ Color guard and she attended one of Kyla's b day celebrations. She was such a beautiful young lady , always smiling , being a momma hen to so many and always involved and volunteering for all band and school events. We are so saddened about your loss and sending our deepest condolences. May God grant everyone peace , comfort, strength and healing over the next days months and years to come. We were blessed to know her and have her make such an impact on everyone she was around. I will miss her laughter, smile and watching her energy doing what she loved . Color guard/ winter guard will never be the same without you Marie but know you will never be forgotten. She would ask me to share pictures and videos because she knew Mrs. Jeri took a ton of pics. I went thru so many and cried going thru all the memories over the years.Marie you were so loved by many and your family and friends miss you . God needed you more and called you home. I was so lucky to have been her 7th grade teacher. She was just starting out with flags and was almost always coming in to class with an ice pack or needing to go to the nurse for an ice pack! She had a way about her that always left you with a smile on your face and your heart. Thank you for the love and laughter, Marie. I will miss you so much, but I also believe that we will meet again. Sending my condolences to all of her family and friends.

Marie has changed me in a way I could never be more thankful for. She’s been such an amazing influence in my life and has taught me lessons that are written onto my heart. I have no doubt that she is the strongest and most loving person I’ve ever met that always shared  those with so many others abundantly. I am immeasurably grateful for the time we spent together, and I pray that  you are at peace with the Lord now, Marie.♥️

This picture was taken last year when Marie and my son were in ACT Theatre together. Marie was my son’s “mom” in the play. Marie had such a beautiful soul! She was kind and patient while helping my son with lines. She will always be in our hearts. Thank you Marie for being my son’s friend and making it so easy for him in his first year of Theatre. I had the pleasure of teaching Marie in advanced freshman English last year. She was a beacon of light from day one: always laughing, smiling, happy. I would often see her outside the band hall as I would walk my daughter to school. It always meant a lot to me that she would greet my young daughter by name. She had such a happy, kind energy.  We love you, sweet girl. We will miss you so, so much.

Marie was the first person to tell me that i was gonna be okay in high school and she was right she kinda took care of me in a way for the first few days. She was the sweetest kindest soul ever i wish we could have gotten closer but im glad i got to know the person she was. This was one of my first days of high school and she gave me friends and a place to sit at lunch when i was worried about nothing i miss her so much but i know she is in a happier place. Hello good evening you may not know me but I was one of the people you got to know Marie in elementary she was very joyful and happy and when I saw Marie every time there was a smile I had found this sad new when my good friend Elizza had told me and just broke my heart because they had a unbreakable bond I will miss her little laughs and how cute she was we will all miss her very much it breaks my heart know she is not here with us but watching over us. I know this may be hard but know we will get through this 🩷

I went to school with Marie in the 6th grade, during the online/in-person covid disaster was happening and she was the first person who welcomed me with open arms. I remember our silly groupchat with Elieen and a few of our other friends, where we would role-play as Haikyuu characters and play among us lol. Marie and I shared 3rd period pre-athletics with each other and instead of changing out to our gym clothes, we would sing in the showers because the echo was perfect for us to harmonize together. Our time as friends was short, but it felt like just yesterday we were on facetime with the group talking about anime or something nerdy. It seems cringey remembering how we acted, but boy do I wish to go back and talk to her one last time, hug her one last time, play games together one last time, sing with her one last time, or even to feel her presence in a room just one more time. Prayers go out to her family and loved ones.

Me and Marie were friends ever since she moved here in 6th grade it’s hard not being able to see her smile and this photo was the last photo I took with her which was September 6 2024 which was my birthday she was so excited it was my birthday she made everyone sing me happy birthday she made my birthday one of the best since i was having a hard time at that football game but now that she’s gone i really don’t know what to do without her she was my other half and now she can be my guardian angel on my right shoulder i will forever miss her i love you Marie ❤️

I never really got to know her very well, even then, she was super sweet. She had the sweetest smile and she was so nice to everyone. Her laugh was contagious, she was the perfect person. I wish she was still here. I wish she could see how much everyone loves her and misses her. I’ll miss you Marie.

I was so saddened to hear about Marie’s passing. It was a pleasure teaching her ballet and getting to know her. She was such a sweet and talented young woman.
I also have fond memories of dancing with her mom growing up. It’s comforting to know that I was able to continue the tradition by teaching Marie.

I am Sofia, a friend of Marie’s via the Macy’s Great American Marching Band. I would like to share how deeply distraught I am with this news. Marie was the first friend I made at Macy’s. During costume fittings, when I first arrived, I was alone and nervous that I wouldn’t make friends. However, Marie spotted me and came right up to me. She struck up a conversation with me with such genuine enthusiasm, confidence, and poise, all while having her beautiful, infectious smile. She made me feel welcomed and not alone in that new space. I never got the chance to tell her how happy she made me feel that day when she came to talk with me, I wish I could have thanked her for that. Marie and I grew so close in that short week and I will never forget all the memories I made with her. From showing her around the city to our huge mall shopping spree, I will always cherish those many amazing moments.
Marie, I’m so fortunate to have gotten to know you. I love you so, so much and I will always remember you as the kind, talented, smart, funny, beautiful, and strong girl you are. Thanks for being such a good friend to me and I’m so glad you got to try New York pizza. I will miss you so much.

I was a teacher aid at Travis Elementary and I remember her singing in our talent "wrecking Ball " by Miley Cyrus and she was only in pre-K, I believe. She was so lovable and so talented. I was so impressed that we put her at the end of the lineup because I wanted everybody to stay for her to watch her.

I was in color guard with her for 3 years, if there's anything I wont ever forget. It would be the year we went to state it was in 2021 with our marching show "The Strings That Bind Us", I'll never forget waiting anxiously in the stands and then hearing " And you 2021-2022 Area E Champions are... The Jourdanton  Mighty Indian Band!"everyone was crying and hugging each other and she had the biggest smile on her face that was something and is something I'll never forget. I hope shes at peace now; tossing her flags as high as her heart desires-- with the biggest smile on her face.

My Sweet  Little Marie, my beloved bonus daughter, who left us far too soon. Your bright smile, infectious laughter, and kind heart touched the lives of everyone around you. I was one of the drum majors for the Macy’s Band for Thanksgiving Parade last year. It was a pleasure working with Marie. She was always so willing to learn and had a smile on her face. She wanted to become drum major of her high school’s marching band, so I mentored her throughout the school year. I will miss her so much and I hope she keeps twirling up there 🕊️❤️

I was a friend of Marie’s at the Macy’s Great American Matching Band. She was such a joy to be friends with and I am heartbroken for you, you all are in my thought and prayers and I am extremely sorry for you’re loss.
