She was the beloved daughter of Emilio and Eufemia Bazan and the youngest of five children. Marissa is survived by her three older brothers, Jay, Louie (Tanya), and Rodney(Josette), and her loving sister, Jessica (Adam). Being the baby of the family suited her well — she carried a spark that was uniquely hers and a personality that could never be overlooked.
Marissa had a natural gift for humor. She was so funny and could make anyone laugh, even on the hardest days. Her laughter was contagious, and her playful spirit brought light into every room she entered.
She was an animal lover with the gentlest heart. Her fur baby, Justice, was her everything. The bond they shared was one of pure love and loyalty, and Justice brought her comfort and happiness every single day. The compassion she showed to animals reflected the same tenderness she gave to her family and friends.
Her greatest joy was being an aunt. Her nieces and nephews meant everything to her, and she cherished each of them deeply: Gabriella Bazan, Junior Bazan, Johnny Joe Bazan, Nicole Bazan, Bianca Reyes, Rodney Bazan Jr., Kaylie Reyes, Victoria Grace Bazan, Kimberlee Bazan, Adam Reyes, Aliyah Jae Garza (A-Jae), and Noah Daniel Garza. She treasured every hug, every laugh, and every moment spent with them.
Marissa loved the color orange — a bright and beautiful reflection of her vibrant spirit, warmth, and the light she brought into every life she touched.
Marissa will be remembered for her laughter, her kindness, and the joy she brought to those around her. Though her time with us feels far too short, the love she gave so freely will live on in the hearts of her parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and all who were blessed to know her.
A visitation for Marissa will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 12PM-9PM. A chapel service will occur Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 10AM with a burial to follow. All services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Highland and Memorial Park in Weslaco, TX.
In honor of Marissa, the family invites those attending her service to wear orange to celebrate her beautiful life and the brightness she brought into the world.
Her memory will forever be carried in the stories shared, the laughs remembered, and the deep love that binds her family together.
