

Norberto “Nobby” was a devoted husband, and a loving father, brother, and uncle. His proudest role was that of being a grandfather to his 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
His wisdom, leadership, advocacy, wit and generous spirit were known by all who had the honor of calling him friend. Norberto attended St. Joan of Arc, where many of his long lasting friendships began. He furthered his education at Pan American where he studied animal science. His love for animals and agriculture developed into his lifelong passion of breeding, raising and training Quarter horses. Norberto who was known for his charisma and communication skills, was a successful automobile salesman to families across the Rio Grande Valley for many years. Norberto is predeceased by his parents Maximiliano and Felicitas Cancino, as well as his sister Chita Puente, and brothers Herman, Max, and Johnny Cancino, and great grandchild Baby Mason Arguelles.
He is also predeceased by the love of his life, his wife of 41 years, Norma Cancino. Their vows to care for each other in sickness and in health were fulfilled as he valiantly stood by her side through her difficult battle with cancer.
Left to treasure his memory are his children: Sally (Pablo) Mendoza, Norbert (Belinda) Cancino, Ivonne (Rey) Sandoval, and Belinda (William) Balsells, his grandchildren: Julia, Paul Matthew, Anyssa, Aaron, Adam, Jordon, Jaden, Cassandra, Rey III, Katelyn, Nicolas, Selma, Maya, and Ava. His great grandchildren: Basilio, Jeremey, Nathan, Addison, Amelia, Everly and Luna. He is also survived by his siblings, Francisco and Rosie.
Viewing to be held at Del Angel Funeral Home at Highland Memorial, in Weslaco, on Thursday, December 30th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, December 31st at 2:00pm with burial to follow.
