Omar was born in Weslaco, Texas on February 19, 1981 to Carlos Cuellar and Nasaria Martinez. He graduated from Weslaco High School and then served 5 years in the United States Marine Corp. Omar received his associates degree in Bio- Med but prided himself for his study in Culinary Arts.
Omar’s greatest love was for his daughter, Layla, but he also had a passion for cooking and sports. He enjoyed long phone conversations whether it be to reminisce of the good old days or to talk you through a cooking recipe. He was a collector of Beatles memorabilia, and an avid music lover, which he demonstrated by his frequent uploads to youtube of himself singing along to a song that was either requested or he was just feeling at the moment. Omar’s talents were many; a drummer, a runner, an artist, and a writer of poetry, just to name a few.
Omar is proceeded in death by his mother, Nasaria Martinez; uncles, Felix Garcia, Victor Lopez, Oscar Lopez, and aunt, Maria Garcia.
Omar is survived by his daughter, Layla M. Cuellar; father, Rogelio Martinez; brother, Carlos (Isela) Cuellar; nieces, Carla C. Cuellar, Sara V. Cuellar; nephew, Isaiah A. Cuellar, and numerous uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel- Highland Funeral Home 6705 N. FM 88 Weslaco, TX 78596
