
PEDRO PINEDA(1922 - 2013).PEDRO PINEDA WESLACO - Pedro Pineda, was born to Pedro and San Juanita Pineda on September 2, 1922 in Matamoros, Tamps, MX. He became a United States citizen on August 23, 1963, and died peacefully in his home in Weslaco surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 28, 2013. Pedro brought the family together to rejoice in the Thanksgiving holiday and provided his loved ones the opportunity to express their love and affection to their father and grandfather. It seems he knew we were all together and ready to let him go to meet his maker. We love you "apa", you are now in peace and with our good Lord. Pedro is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Aurora Pineda and his only daughter; Marie (Jose) Pineda Salazar from Weslaco, Tx. and a son, Pedro Andres Pineda from Bastrop, Texas. Grandchildren, Jon (Yolanda) Salazar, Erika Maritza (+Danny) Garcia, Veronica Lee (Jeromy) Newcomer from Weslaco, and JoAnna Aurora (Joe-Rudi) Garcia from Mercedes. His Great-Grandchildren; Liliana, Jon Jr., and Jazmine Salazar; Daniela, America and Gabriela Gia Garcia, J.P and Zenaida Ramos, Erik Ortiz; Elena Dominguez and J.R. Newcomer, Leroy Cuellar, Joe-Rudi II, Kailee Renee and Karissa Garcia. Siblings: Francisco "Pancho" Pineda, Tranquillino (Santos) Pineda and Francisca (+Enrique) Villarreal and Rosa (Quota) Rodriguez from Weslaco, Tx, Juan (Aurora) Pineda from Fresno, California. He was predeced by his three sons; Pedro, Andres and Juan Pineda, his brothers: Perfecto, Guadalupe and Jesus Pineda and his sister; Helena Pineda. Pete, as he was called by many of his friends, managed and operated agricultural farmland in Tracy, California for the Thompson Family during most of his teen years and adult life. Pete finally retired and returned to Texas in 1975, but was unable to not continue his love for the outdoors and the type of work he enjoyed and was hired as a ranch-hand for Senator Lloyd Bentsen. He worked for the Bentsen family for several years until his partner and love of his life Aurora convinced him to seriously retire and spend their golden years enjoying and relaxing as was well deserved. They celebrated their 67 years of marriage on August 7th 2013. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at the _El Templo Hermosa church in Weslaco. The visitation for Mr. Pineda will be today, December 1, 2013 from 12 pm to 9 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm at L & I Funeral Home of Elsa Chapel. Funeral Service will be Monday, December 2, 2012 at 12pm at El Templo Hermosa Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow to Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
