Rosa Maria Medrano

Rosa dedicated her life to nurturing others. Her passion for teaching and her love for children shaped a career that spanned many years, during which she made a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. Rosa believed education was the key to a brighter future, and her classroom was haven of encouragement, creativity, and understanding.

Beyond her career, Rosa was a loving mother to Nora, Jose Jr., and Javier, a devoted spouse to Jose Sr., and a loyal friend to many. She found joy in, reading, puzzles, poetry, music, and thrifting. Her warm smile and generous heart touched everyone who knew her.

She had a special way of making people feel seem and valued, often staying in touch with former students long after they left her classroom.

Rosa is survived by the father of her children; Jose Angel Medrano Sr, her children; Nora E. Medrano ( Raul Banda), Jose A. Medrano Jr ( Cynthia Estrada), Javier Teddy Medrano ( Brisa Acosta), grandchildren; Alyssa Swope, Raiden Banda, Adrian and Rozemary Medrano, Jaileen, Abel, Liliana, and Felix Medrano, her siblings; Raymundo Verbena, Thomas Vela, Ruben Vela, Javier Vela and her parents; Thomas Vela and Maria De La Luz Morales.

A visitation for Rosa will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Highland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6705 North Fm 88, Weslaco, Texas 78596. Following the visitation will be a chapel service at 1:00 PM.
