

Santos Castillo, 79, of Harlingen passed away on Monday the 22nd of March. He was born in La Villa on the 2nd of February 1942. He graduated from Edcouch Elsa High School in 1961 and later from Pan American College in Edinburg. He then settled down and married his High School sweetheart, Felicitas Escohar from Edcouch. He retired after working 40 years with American National Insurance Company.
He was also an active member of the Mexican American Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Colombus, and was an active board member of the East Rio Hondo Water Supply for 20 years.
Santos leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Felicitas and son, David Castillo. He also left four grand children. He was preceded in death by his two daughters, Linda Y. Castillo and Sonia D. Castillo Hunter. He was also preceded in his death by his parents, Luz and Eulalia Castillo, his brothers, Noe Castillo and Jesus Castillo and a sister, Gloria Garcia. Santos leaves behind a brother, Johnny Castillo and two sisters, Leonor Leal and Maria Luisa Reyna, plus many aunts and uncles, cousin, nephews and nieces. All of them loved him very much.
Visitation Services for Santos will be held Friday, March 26th from 4 P.M. to 9 P.M. at Funeraria Del Angel Highland Memorial Funeral, 6705 N. FM 88 Weslaco, Texas. Rosary will be at 7 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be held the next day, Saturday at 10 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
