Victoriano Martinez

March 23,1936– April 13, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Victoriano "Tolano" Martinez, age 89, a beloved father, grandfather, and brother, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Born in Harlingen, Texas, Victoriano lived a life full of love, hard work, and quiet strength. He was known for his unwavering support of his family, his gentle wisdom, and his wonderful sense of humor. He spent his life as a dedicated labor worker, always leading by example and with humility and strength.

Victoriano was a devoted father to Eliseo Martinez, Leticia Leandro (Heriberto †), Enrique Martinez (Irene), Victoriano Martin Martinez (Florestella), Ricardo Martinez (Claudia), Oscar Martinez (Olga), Raquel Martinez (Mando), Criselda "Christy" Martinez, and Irene "Rennie" Martinez, a cherished grandfather to 34 grandchildren, 74 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, and numerous fur grandbabies, and a loving brother to Antonia Gamez.

Victoriano is preceded in death by his loving wife Gregoria V. Martinez, his son Jesus "Chuy" Martinez, his grandsons Frankie Leandro and Jamey Lee Alaniz and his parents Jose and Santana Martinez.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and the many lives he touched.

Having the honor of serving as pallbearers for their grandfather are Victoriano Martinez III, Rick Martinez, Michael Castillo, Brandon Alaniz, Eddie Leandro Jr., and Joey Martinez and honorary pallbearers Eric Eli Martinez and Ayden Alaniz.

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Highland, 6705 FM 88 Weslaco, Texas 78599. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church, followed by the interment at 11:00 AM at Highland Memorial Park, Weslaco, Texas.
