Ysidro, met Melida Ortiz in Gregory Portland, Texas and were married shortly after, on January 12, 1950. He was a loving husband, a wonderful and caring father to 12 children. We all knew him as Apa; he was well loved by all his children and grand children.
Apa was a hard-working husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He always found ways to make ends meet. He enjoyed working with his hands, from anything mechanical to bingo and scratch-offs. Although he is gone, we will never forget him, he will forever be in our hearts and minds.
He is survived by, 3 sons: Jesse Alaniz (wife Elvira Alaniz) from Plainview, Texas: Ernesto Alaniz (wife Brenda Alaniz) from Corpus Christi, Texas: Arnulfo Alaniz (wife Nancy Alaniz) from Weslaco, Texas, and 8 daughters: Melida A. Esparza (husband Charlie Esparza) from Lockney, Texas: Ester A. Izarraraz from Georgia: Celia A. Perez (husband Ruben Perez) from Florida: Irene A. Flores (husband Reynaldo Flores) from Lewisville, Texas: Rosa Maria A. Cavazos (husband Jesse Cavazos) from Weslaco, Texas: Olga Lidia A. Pompa (husband Sergio Pompa) from Weslaco, Texas: Maribel A. Reyes from Weslaco, Texas: Monica A. Johnson (husband Chris Johnson) from Rosenberg, Texas; 36 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. A brother Rogelio Alaniz and sisters Ofemia "Licha" Vargas and Consuelo Guadalupe Alaniz.
He is preceded in death by his wife Melida Ortiz Alaniz, parents Victoriano and Mercedes Alaniz, son Ysidro Alaniz Jr.

Visitation Services for Ysidro will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Highland Funeral Home (6705 N FM 88 Weslaco, Texas 78596) with Rosary at 7:00 pm. Chapel Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Funeraria Del Angel Highland Funeral Home (6705 N FM 88 Weslaco, Texas 78596). Followed with the Interment at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, Texas.
