Mathias J. Blankenheim

Mathias J. Blankenheim "Matt" went home to Eternal Rest on Friday, June 3, 2011, at age 87. Beloved husband of Donna (nee Forrest) of 63 years. Loving dad of Elizabeth "Betty" (Terry) Silagyi, Mary Kay (Tom) Waits, Patrick (Patty) Blankenheim, Mike (Joanie) Blankenheim and Catherine "Cate" Puerling. Proud grandpa of Colleen "Cole" Kallas, Andrew "Andy" Kallas, Cortney Silagyi, Sarah Blankenheim, Jason (Ally) Blankenheim and Melissa Blankenheim. Great-grandpa of Ethan and Isabella. Matt will be missed by his dogs Sissy and Sadie. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Matt proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during WW II. He retired as Captain from the West Allis Fire Department.

Visitation Monday, June 6th from 4 to 7 PM with a Vigil Service at 7 PM at the Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, June 7, at 11 AM at St. Matthias Catholic Church (9306 W. Beloit Rd.). Procession to Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project appreciated. Thank you to Mitchell Manor and Allay Hospice for their loving and compassionate care to Matt and his family.
