To all my friends and family, I want to let you know,
That I’m no longer suffering, I’ve let all the pain go.
I want you all to remember me, not as I am today,
But as I was before, when all the troubles were at bay.
Please don’t grieve too much for me, but if you really must,
Do so for a while, then your lives must soon adjust.
Think of this not as “goodbye” but more like “see you later.”
Next time we see each other we’ll be in the arms of our creator.
Just know that I am looking down and loving what I see,
Because I see my beautiful and caring family.
If you ever need me, just know that you can call,
Say “Eric,” and I’ll listen, I’ll hear your voices above all.
My time has come to leave this earth, all troubles were released.
Now my spirit is soaring free, and I can truly rest in peace.
