Lolo Ferdie, 

Thank you for watching me and for always being there for us. I remember you always pronounced my teachers name wrong and I would try telling you the right name. And thank you for always buying us things and for getting me a piano for Christmas. I will never forget you and I’m going to miss you. I love you.

I just want to share my memories with my Uncle Ferdie...growing up you and Auntie Loy would be over a lot and as a kid I dread it, especially at family parties. I would try to avoid you because I know you would tease me.  I'm a cry baby and still am and you know that I'm an easy target for you to mess with.  Even when my friends come over I would warn them not to take anything you said personally cause you were always joking around.  My friends knew who you were, and they would know when you're around because you're the loud Uncle the jokester, you're the guy that brighten up the whole room.

Fast forward to past few years and learning   of your diagnosis and seeing you fight was honestly heart breaking.  I could see how much pain you were in, and hurts to see the man that I knew for being the loudest slowly becoming more and more quiet.  The man who was the silliest and always joking around starting to loose his smile.

Pandemic came and I didn't get to see you as much so when I saw you at my Dad's birthday at your house reality set in you've lost a lot of weight and hearing how much pain you're in I started tearing up right away went outside and cry...I didn't want to see you like that it broke my heart.

Last time I spent time with you one-on-one  was when I had to pick you up from your chemo and drop you off at your house.  It was the first time I ever did it because when they asked me I would try to avoid it.  I'm sorry Uncle I was just afraid to hurt you more.  I remember that day I was so stressed out because I was the only one available to pick you up.  I called my mom  and she told me to just pray and I did while waiting for you to come out from treatment.  A few minutes later here you are looking good and you told me you're not in pain and you usually feel fine after.  On our way back to your house we talked about my work, sports, the Lakers and  joke around a bit.   I'm glad that God let me have that moment with you.  I love you Uncle Ferdie. ❤ 

Dear Ferdie,

I just want to say thank you so much my favorite brother for your unconditional love and care for me, Nelson, my kids, and my grandkids. Since my kids were in grade school you were the one who picked them up from school and watched them until me and Nelson got home from work. You and Ate Loy were always there for us whenever we needed you. I know I am not that good at cooking, but my spaghetti and spareribs adobo were your favorite and it made me feel good knowing that you liked my cooking.  I will miss that almost every weekend you and Ate Loy came over to our house and always spent time and bonded with us and our family. You would always play with our grandkids and even buy gifts and food for them. I am also sad that I won’t have any more competition with who has the louder voice in our family. I will always cherish the time we spent whenever we would go on vacations together. You were always willing to take off work to go with us on trips and bond with us. 

Ate Loy, before Ferdie got confined in the hospital, he told me that he was worried that he was leaving you and that you would be by yourself when he is gone. So, I told him to not worry about you and that we will take care of you and if you ever need anything we will always be here for you.

My dear brother, I will cherish all the good memories we had together. I am going to miss you so much, but I find comfort knowing you are no longer in pain. I know this isn’t goodbye and that we are going to see each other again.

Di ko po alam kung ano sasabihin ko kasi I feel and know your pain po dahil kasunod ni nanay, si tito ferdie naman. 😥 Stay strong tita! Bilib po ako sa lakas ng loob mo. Keep that. Sorry wala po kami dyan para madamay ka. But know that even we’re not there physically, we are always praying for you. I wish I could hug you tita!

My deepest sympathy for the passing of Ferdie 

I know that there are no words that will comfort you or ease your pain…

When my mother passed away to, all I could do to ease the pain and the grief was to take comfort that he is now in a better place… no more pain but enjoying the eternal life with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ whom he was able to embrace in his last days.  

I am personally in peace that I was given the time to see him last Sunday and pray for him …

Although, we don’t see each other often you were always the funny, making jokes, always loud uncle that everyone knew lol, no matter where you were and at every party or event and that’s what made you who you are. You fought a long tough battle of cancer for 2 years and all while still in pain and we all will truly miss you but God needed you more. It will never be the same without you and it will definitely be noticed at every party and event. Today, Heaven gained another angel. I know you are no longer in pain suffering and are at a better place. May your soul forever Rest In Peace uncle Ferdie. You will never be forgotten. I know God saw how tired and how much pain you were in, so he called you home. And was more than likely really interested in meeting you, bc he saw how kind, unselfish and funny you were always cracking jokes, and probably heard your loud voice all the way from down here. I know it's been hard for you the past couple of weeks but your strength and courage throughout this whole process is admiring. Thank you for being strong this whole way!

I know only time can ease the pain but you and Uncle Ferdie are always with us in our hearts.  if you need anything we are always here for you! We love you auntie! 


As far back as I can remember uncle ferdie was a part of my life from when I was a kid. He lived with me at my house, when I was growing up. My memories as a kid I always remembered uncle ferdie had the room right next to me. I slept with my Lola and uncle ferdie lived down the hallway. My mom and dad worked til late so uncle ferdie basically was watching me every day. When uncle ferdie moved out, I still saw him every single day. Because he would pick me up from school and when we moved across queen of the valley uncle ferdie would be at my house every single day. When I came home from school uncle ferdie was right there on the couch. Watching tfc eating my moms food. Especially my moms spaghetti was his favorite.
Uncle ferdie also helped me get my first job. I worked with him at queen of the valley. He introduced me to the hospital and now I’m a nurse. So I have him to thank for jump starting my career path. Working with uncle ferdie at the hospital was so much fun. He was a legend at queen. All the nurses and doctors knew him. I was really inspired by how hard he worked it made me want to work just as hard as him. I always wanted to make him proud of me. 
I would call him check up on him FaceTime. He never let me know he was in pain always wanted to be strong for me. We would talk and he would give me advice about life. This is the first time uncle ferdie was serious because he’s usually joking around. But God wanted him now and I’m so relieved he is no longer in pain.
The Sunday before he died was Father’s Day. Me my sis and nj wanted to go visit him. He wasn’t talking much or responding to people. But I wanted to tell him happy Father’s Day. I went to his ear and said uncle ferdie u are my dad also happy Father’s Day i love u. And he had enough strength that to say I love u too. He said I love u too to me my sis and nj. That was the last memory I have of him and it was perfect.

To Lolo Ferdie,

I’m gonna miss you so much. I would see you every weekend, even if it was just for the smallest thing like you bringing the cookies we enjoyed from your work. I could still picture you sitting on a chair in our living room, holding a beer and being loud or just watching the tv. I could easily see you laughing and pointing at Devin or Janiya if they did something bad. Knowing that you and Lola Loy were around always made me feel happy, because you effortlessly made people laugh. 

I appreciate you calling me just to hear me, Janiya and Devin talk to you even when you were in the hospital. We all love you so much and I will make sure to share funny memories with them so that they never forget who you are and how special you were to everyone.

Uncle Ferdie,

You were such a big part of our lives. Some of my most memorable childhood memories included you. Growing up, I remember staying up playing Crazy 8 with you and Auntie Loy.  You would do word-search books with me and every time we finished one book, you would buy another one. Even when you moved out on your own with Auntie Loy, you guys still let me sleepover your house and take me out to the movies with you guys. I remember you and Auntie Loy coming over every Friday and staying til Sunday. If it got past 5pm and we didn’t see you at the house yet, I would ask my mom, is Uncle Ferdie coming over? You were always the best to “chismis” with and you were always the first to know about everything. You were my favorite uncle and I would have done anything for you. Just like you would have done anything for us. 

You treated my kids like your own. You spoiled them and cared for them so much. Every birthday, every party, you were there. You always made sure we had everything we needed for our parties. If the kids requested something, you did your best to get it for them. You were the Lolo that they all felt comfortable around because they saw you so often. Yes, you were one of the loudest and always made jokes, but you were also the most caring. You were their “Lolo P, Lolo Serdie and Lolo Ferdie.” Even with a pandemic and while going through chemo/radiation, you tried your best to spend time with the kids and still found strength to watch Devin and push him around in his stroller outside my parents house. You were such a fighter. You were so strong. 

One of the last times I saw you was when you were in the hospital, you told me “don’t cry.” But how can I not cry seeing one of the people I care about the most suffering. Your last words to me were “I love you too” and I’m going to cherish that forever.  We all loved you so much. Until we meet again. The memory of you will live on forever in our hearts. We miss you everyday. Love you always

Dear Uncle Ferdie, 

You were always the funniest and loudest person in the room and at every family party. I always loved having you and Auntie Loy at our house almost every weekend. You joked around and teased everyone but that was your way of showing love. You were basically a second dad to all of us and you were always there for us kids whenever we needed you. I also enjoyed talking about sports with you almost everyday and I'm glad you got to see both the Lakers and the Dodgers win one last time. 

Thank you Uncle Ferdie for everything you've done for us and practically raising all of us. You didn't have any kids but honestly we are ALL your children.

As many of you had observed, my alarm clock does not often work, and whenever I tried to wiggle my way to a party quietly --- Ferdie used to call my name out loud “Ate Bella” enough to make my planned quiet arrival turn into a “fashionably” late entrance and be noticed by everyone. I will miss his humor, but most of all, I will miss the way he showed respect and honored me as the “matriarch” among us, Cresencio’s children.

It is with an aching heart that we bid goodbye to my brother, Ferdie. As we reminisce about his life here on Earth, we are delighted by his exceptional character – full of humor and good-intentionality towards others, especially his friends and family. We know that Jesus is with him and Ferdie is now about to enjoy the promise of eternity because he accepted Jesus and reconciled with the Lord. 

Ferdie, thank you for always being there for us, and I know that you knew how much we all love you.

Our dear Loi, you had manifested a selfless love for our brother, and we admire your strength and the power of your love. We are here for you.

Life of the party! Loud and tough on the outside--soft on the inside. That was how uncle Ferds was to many.
It was ironic that the loudest person in the family, the one who often yells with a grouch, was the most thoughtful and kindest person in my book -- and his kindness, helpfulness, and thoughtfulness -- he never bragged. As loud as he was --, you will never hear him brag about the things he did for others. He was quiet about his good deeds. I guess that was the purity of his heart.
During my first few months here in the United States, uncle Ferdie, Tita Loi, and I became very close, especially while I was here in LA studying for my nursing board exam. 
Not many of you know, when I returned to Connecticut, alone and not knowing anyone. Tito Ferds called me every morning and every night; he even had to use quarters for a payphone back then -- he never failed to check up on me--he always reminded me to take care of myself. 
Talking to him became a part of my daily routine; he helped me get through the sad and depressing challenges of being Fresh Off the Boat and living alone. With his infamous advice, "pakainin mo lang sila palague-- stay friendly and they will be nice to you.” I also know how much he loved Auntie Loi. We talked about her too; he told me how tita Loi has always been patient with him and that she loves him so much — feeling pogi di ba! 
To one of the most thoughtful, self-giving, and strongest person I had known -- I can only imagine how you are bantering Indang Neneng now -- tell her that you fought a good fight and you’re loved! 
No more pain Tito Ferds; you are now with Jesus in heaven. 
I will miss you, Tito Ferds -thank you for the special bond that we shared, thank you for loving me the way you did-- you knew how much I love you; I was there; we were all there. (I kept my promise.)

Good afternoon to all
My name is Susan Fabros Fisher.  I am one of the four sisters of our dearest Ferdie.
Thank you for coming to pay your last respect to Ferdie.
They say that the last act of love you can do to honor the memory of our departed loved one is to share and let everyone know how he/she became a blessing and how he/she touched your life.
We all in one accord agree that Ferdie was funny and loud.  But behind his jokes, loudness and favorite expressions in a typical kapampangan accent… Hay Diyos ko Po!!! was a good man with ready to help heart.
For two or three years, he and Loi would come to put up my Christmas lights.  He would always carry and give us stuff.  During parties, I always make lambing to him by asking him to get me food and drinks. When he scratched his head and became prayerful Hay Diyos ko Po… I would tell him, I am older than you are”.   I know deep in his heart he found joy in serving me. 
When I asked my son, Patrick what he remembers about his Uncle Ferdie, these what he texted me:
He was the uncle who always made me laughed, who always teased me by calling me Father and asked me if I wanted to have a Bible Study.
We say good bye for now but we find peace and take comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain and that, in his last days, he opened his heart and became more prayerful by uttering the name of our Lord and Savior ….Jesus…. Jesus…. Jesus 
And again, true to his nature ..he still made a joke by saying … Jesus please forgive me for not my sins..
My dearest brother Ferdie, we love you and we will surely miss you…
And to Loi,
There are no words that can comfort you for losing Ferdie but may our love and the love of Jesus Christ who freed Ferdie from his pain and took him in His care, give you the strength today and for many days, many weeks and many years to come 
More than ever, we love you. Ferdie’s memories will be with us through you.

I can’t believe that I will no longer see you when we go visit Pomona. I still remember the last time that we went there, Tita Loisa told me that you asked her to get lechon because we will be celebrating our birthdays together. You have been so thoughtful to us since we were kids. You always make sure that everyone is having fun whenever you host a party. I will miss everything about you, Tito. Please watch over Tita Loisa and give her strength to get through this difficult time. We love you, Tito. Until we meet again.
