Bailey Jo Brady, 26, died Friday, June 5, 2015 in West Des Moines. A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 11 at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines. A luncheon will follow the service.
Bailey Jo was born on September 27, 1988 in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended West Des Moines schools and graduated from Valley High School in 2007. Bailey attended Drake University from 2007 to 2011, majoring in psychology and participating in the Drake Orchestra as a cellist. After college, Bailey went to work for Wells Fargo Card Services and worked part time at the Funny Bone Comedy Club.
Bailey was a light in our lives who led with an adventurous spirit. She enjoyed traveling, with trips as far away as Italy for orchestra events and to London for studies abroad with Drake. An especially fond memory of her time in London was her work at Deptford Reach, a facility that helped those who suffered from homelessness, mental illness, and drug or alcohol abuse. Through this work, she helped change the lives of many for the better. An avid New England Patriots fan, she was loyal to her football team and cheered for the Boston Red Sox during baseball season. Bailey enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family.
Bailey is survived by her mother, Bobbie Areges; father, Steven Areges; brother, Michael; grandparents, Bud and Carole Karachiwala and Shirley Areges; uncle, Kareem Karachiwala, uncle and aunt, James and Jodene Areges; as well as other extended family.
Work is underway on a memorial for Bailey and contributions can be made through the family or via the web at http://www.gofundme.com/baileyjobrady.
