Betty met Dale Richardson and they were married on Christmas Eve, 1950. Dale served in the military in Germany, while there, Betty lived in Des Moines. They had 4 sons and lived on Gray Street on the south side of Des Moines.
Betty worked at Bankers Life Insurance Company in downtown Des Moines.
The family moved to Omaha in the late 70’s and resided there for nearly ten years prior to returning to West Des Moines. Betty worked for the Iowa Foundation and later retired.
Betty was active at Clifton Heights Presbyterian Church. She sang in the choir and supported many activities.
Betty enjoyed playing Granny Basketball and loved country music! She loved flee markets and had many collections that she displayed proudly. She and Dale enjoyed many years of retirement and celebrated 68 years together. They loved spending time with their sons, families and friends.
She is survived by her sons Kenny Richardson (Therese); her son Keith Richardson (Cece); her son Kevin Richardson (Penny); and her son Kerry Richardson (Beth); her brother Benny New.
Betty is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
