

Carol A. Wiezorek, 77, passed away on May 13, 2026. Celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. September 25, 2026, at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines, IA 50266.
Carol was born in Sioux City, IA on September 11, 1948 to Doug and Doris Miller. She was educated at University of Northern Iowa and received her Master’s in speech pathology and audiology. Carol lived in Cedar Falls her whole adult life. She worked at Area Education Agency until diagnosed with Leukemia. She fought leukemia for 23 years when she was given two weeks to live. Carol was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She treasured her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her children, Travis (Sarah) Wagner, Carie Wagner, Susan (Rod) Backes and Lisa Ray (Eric); grandchildren, Abby, Emma, Elly Wagner, Austin Wagner, Megan Peterson, Miranda Lindmark, Kenedy and Ethan Backes; great grandchildren, Casen , Gracelynn Peterson, Paityn, Rowyn, Memphis and Lindmark; sister, Nancy (Norm) Higginbottom; and brother, Kent ( Elaine) Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Wiezorek and her parents.
Carol and Gary were very supportive of all the kids and what they did. They made it to so many activities and events. She loved and cared for Gary with all her devotion during 20 years of marriage and another 10 dating. Carol was a great and loving partner to him. They enjoyed traveling and racing events. She loved to spend as much time as she could with all her family. All who loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, grace, and undying love for everyone.
