Charles Earl Stanton, 60, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at UnityPoint Methodist in Des Moines. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2022 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with burial and a celebration planned in June at Resthaven Cemetery. The family requests very casual attire and wear what you are comfortable in.
Chuck was born November 14, 1961 to Charles Edward and Patricia Louise (Warner) Stanton in Des Moines. He graduated from Valley High School in 1980 and Central College in 1984. He worked as a supportive community living specialist at On With Life which he was very proud of. Chuck was an avid sports and sports talk radio fan and was always watching the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Chuck is survived by his companion, Laura Martin of Des Moines; son, Bryan (Liz) Stanton of Ankeny; daughter, Kelbi Stanton of Baxter; grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Thompson of Grimes, Teri Wszolek of Virginia Beach, VA, and Cindy Wallace of Suffolk, VA; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, James Frederick Thompson; and great nephew, Rylie G. Schwenneker.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.
