Clara Gilmore, 81, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017 in Des Moines, IA. A Memorial Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at McLaren’s Chapel with private inurnment at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Clara was born October 6, 1935 in Des Moines, IA to Lonnie and Leona (Ferguson) Wesley, Sr. She was a programmer for the State of Iowa. Clara enjoyed doing historical research for her family.
Clara is survived by her three children, Peggy (Louis) Metcalf of Des Moines, Patricia Calhoun of Oklahoma City, OK and James (Sherry) Davenport, Jr. of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, William (Marlena) Wesley of CA; and sister, Carolyn Calderon of NC. She was preceded in death by her brother; two sisters; and son-in-law, John Calhoun.
