David Schelske, 60, passed away from natural causes on Sunday, December 22, 2013. Memorial services will be held in Sioux Falls, SD in the spring of 2014.
David was born in Sioux Falls, SD on January 6, 1953 to Albert and Edna (Witt) Schelske. Following high school graduation he attended classes at SDSU in Brookings, SD. As a young man David was an avid sportsman. He loved to fish and hunt with his father, uncles and friends. He was also a talented craftsman and while living in San Jose, CA he made and sold handcrafted wooden tables.
In 2002 David moved to Des Moines and worked for the Jordan Creek Animal Hospital helping take care of the dogs and pets that came for care. He will always be remembered for his gentle demeanor, kind heart, strong intellect, and interest in family history.
He is survived by his sister, Beth Schelske of St. Louis, MO; aunt, Phyllis Schelske of St. Cloud, MN; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
