Roy Singleton, 78, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at McLaren’s Chapel with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
Roy was born in Provo, Utah the son of Elmer C. and Matilda Singleton. He was a 1955 graduate of the University of Utah and then served in the U.S. Air Force.
Roy had lived in West Des Moines since 1970 and worked at 3M for 35 years in pharmaceutical sales. He was a member of the 3M Top Producers Club and a longtime member of First Assembly of God Church. He loved volunteering at the Mercy Wellness Center, working at the Civic Center, and attending his grandchildren’s activities.
Roy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marion; two sons, David (Sally) Singleton of Corona, CA and their children, Emily, Courtney and Sarah, and Mark (Stacey) Singleton of Johnston and their children, Kirby and Kale; daughter, Stephanie (Bob) Dockweiler of Wantagh, NY and their children, Megan and Joshua. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at McLaren’s Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Assiociation.
