

Deborah Kay (Emehiser) Dooley, 61, passed away at home Thursday morning September 23, 2021, surrounded by her husband, daughters, step-sons, friends and family. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021 at West Des Moines Christian Church, followed by services officiated by Pastor Randy Ehrhardt at 3 p.m. A reception will be held immediately after service in the Fellowship Hall at West Des Moines Christian Church.
Deborah was born in Austin, Minnesota, to Jack and Barbara Emehiser on July 7, 1960. She graduated from Norwalk High school in 1978, where she discovered the talent of cheerleading. She continued this through out her entire life, cheerleading for everybody she met. Deborah was passionately involved in her church life and family, serving as Elder, Deacon, Greeter, and Ministries chairman. Her hobbies included camping, her daughters, step-sons, grandchildren, and her dog, Neeko. Her bright smile and personality truly demonstrated her commitment to the teaching of her Saviour, Jesus Christ and study of God’s Word.
Left to celebrate her life and mourn her passing are: her husband and great love of her life, Kelly Dooley (Urbandale), father Jack Emehiser (Johnston), father and mother-in-law Dale (Judy) Dooley (Yankton, SD), brothers Dan (Diana) Emehiser (St. Augustine, FL), Dale Emehiser (Runnells), sister Darcy (Lin) Emehiser (Runnells), daughters Erin (Kristina) Cox (Des Moines), Amber (Eric) Petersen (Grimes), Amanda Meckler (Des Moines), step-sons Lucas (Kari) Dooley (Brookings, SD), Adam (Maddie) Dooley (Aurora, IL), grandchildren Gaige Pickett, Elsa Petersen, James Horner, and Abbigayle Horner, as well as loving foster grandchildren, many cousins, and countless friends and extended family.
Deborah was preceded in death and met at Heaven’s gates by: her mother, Barbara Knight, mother-in-law, Margie Dooley, grandmother, Mabel McLeod, son-in-law, Randy Meckler, and grandparents.
