Dennis Hurst, 80, of West Des Moines died on September 23, 2019, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Dennis was born on May 1, 1939, in Des Moines to Vernon and Mary (Linstrom) Hurst.
He spent a majority of his life in Southern Florida, returning to Des Moines in 2012. Dennis was a horticulturist and retired as a groundskeeper at a public golf course in Boca Raton, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Tom and Jim, and son Nathanial. His stepdaughter Gloria of Des Moines; brother, Sam Hurst of Waukee; sister, LaDonna Bulmer of Pleasant Hill and several nieces and nephews survive Dennis.
