Donna S. Nelson, 58, passed from this life on Monday, April 26, 2010. Funeral Services will be 10 AM Friday, April 30, 2010 at Lutheran Church of Hope. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 PM Thursday at the church.
Donna was born on November 15, 1951 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Keith and Dorothy (Coakley) Stover. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1970 and the University of Iowa in 1974. Donna was previously a teacher at Crestview Elementary School and most recently at Indian Hills Jr. High School.
She was very active in several groups at Lutheran Church of Hope. A member of Delta Kappa Gamma, NEA, ISEA and CAST. Her family came first, she had a passion for teaching and was a dedicated mother, sister, teacher, friend and her faith was most important to her.
Survivors include her daughters, Kristin Nelson and fiancé Nate Soriano of Chicago, IL and Jessica Nelson and boyfriend Mark Janssen of West Des Moines. One brother Larry (Sandra) Stover of Hartland, WI and one sister Peggy Stover of Coralville, IA. One Aunt, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and twin brothers.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Dollars for Scholars or the American Cancer Society.
