Ray was preceded in death by his first wife Charlotte, daughter Cynthia, and grandson Skyler. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Rosa Maria and 4 children, Sherry (Ron) Iacovetta of Wichita, KS, Sandra (Ed) Collins of Westminster, CO, Rick (Talya) Rabern of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and Greg (Sandy) Rabern of Round Rock, TX. Seven grandchildren Kelly Collins of Manhattan Beach, CA, Ashley (Gineau) Grandmain of Pasadena, CA, Matt Collins of Las Vegas, NV, Danielle (Steve) Locke Wichita, KS, Lara (Jeff) Hollingsworth of McKinney, TX, Jenny L'Estrange and Eric (Courtney) Strable of Des Moines, IA as well as twelve great-grandchildren.
Ray was a World War II veteran in the Marine Corp. After leaving the service he worked for the Rock Island Railroad as an engineer until retirement, upon which he moved to Mexico. He enjoyed playing golf and traveling, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. We miss and love you Dad!
A memorial service will be held for Ray at McLaren’s Funeral Chapel in West Des Moines at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 31st with inurnment at Resthaven Cemetery.
