Frances Sechler, 85, died on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 as the result of a car accident. She will be buried in St. Joe, Indiana and memorial services will be held in Indiana at a later date.
Frances was born October 14, 1925 in Wayne Township, IN and grew up in Northeast, IN. She received her BS and MS from Iowa State University. She was a dietitian for the ISU residence hall food service and later worked in the sales room of Sechlers Pickles in St. Joe, IN.
Frances lived at the Lodge of Ashworth in West Des Moines, was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and PEO, and volunteered at Living History Farms.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Susan) McMillen of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Diana (Michael Burns) McMillen of West Des Moines; step-children, Craig Sechler of Fort Wayne, IN, David Sechler of St, Joe, IN, and Karen (Randy) Linn of St. Joe, IN; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel McMillen, second husband, Frank Sechler, her parents, Alice and Roy Reidenbach, and sister, Ersa Roney.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
