Geraldine Louise (Frederick) Bagley, 90, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
Jerry was born March 14, 1931 to William and Edith Frederick in Elkhart, IA. She graduated from Huxley High School in 1948 and played basketball all through high school. After graduation, she moved to Des Moines and started working at Central Life. She married Richard Bagley on December 25, 1953 and moved in to their new home in Urbandale in 1957. Jerry spent her entire married life in that home before moving to Bickford Assisted living in 2021. She was a stay-at-home mom to her three children, Sheryl, Kathy, and Robert. Jerry also worked in food service for the Urbandale schools for many years
Richard and Jerry enjoyed many road trips with Las Vegas always being a favorite. She loved watching college basketball, crocheting afghans, and playing Bingo. Jerry loved yard work and baking, especially at Christmas time.
Jerry is survived by her three children, Sheryl Roberts, Kathy Rhoads (Ron Mill), and Robert Bagley; grandchildren, Nate (Mandy) Roberts, Abby (Jeff) Howenstein, Tim (Savannah) Rhoads, Amanda Rhoads (Mickey Davis), Alex (Matt) Foley, and Brady and Carter Bagley; six great-grandchildren; siblings, William Frederick, Patty (John) Schiefer, Ray (Linda) Frederick; and many other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents; sister, Shirley (Bill) Barkley; sister-in-law, Carolyn Frederick; and son-in-law, Dave Roberts.
