Ingrid Marie Coy, 61, from Corning, IA (previously of Des Moines) passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025 in Des Moines after a quick and intense battle with cancer. Ingrid was born March 20, 1964 in Des Moines, to Martin and Hildegard (Holzberger) Rauh. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines with the class of 1982. She married Daniel Coy on October 27, 2001 in Runnells, IA in a beautiful outdoor wedding, and they enjoyed 24 years together.
Throughout the years, Ingrid worked at Tasty Tacos, the Younkers Warehouse, and a Downtown Doggy Daycare. The most important of these was the Younkers Warehouse where she worked for several years, because this is where she met Dan in 1993.
Ingrid loved spending time with animals, especially horses, her entire life. She was particularly attached to Arabian Horses which she owned for many years. She enjoyed horse shows at any level from 4-H to open shows like Flying Arrow Saddle Club and Warren County Saddle Club up to higher level Arabian Breed shows.
Spending quality time with her family at all of these shows was very important to her. Once Dan joined the family, he was very supportive of her passion. She also enjoyed having dogs and birds in her life. She enjoyed taking the dogs for walks around town. In addition to the animals, she enjoyed diamond painting projects, reading books and an occasional trip to the casino. She never missed a family gathering where she could catch up with everyone.
She was blessed with a kind heart and never knew a stranger.
Ingrid is survived by her husband, Daniel Coy; siblings Stuart (Diane) Rauh of Des Moines, and Heide (Jay) Green of Des Moines; mother-in-law Joanne Coy of West Des Moines; brothers-in-law Donald Coy (Barb) of Des Moines, and David Coy (Cherri) of Puyallup, WA; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Hildegard Rauh, and father-in-law Ronald Coy.
