Jim Lautenbach, 60, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his home in West Des Moines. A Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines.
Jim was born December 16, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from West Des Moines Valley High School and was a Metal Fabricator for 26 years at Corn States Metal in West Des Moines. Jim was a member of Sheet Metal Worker’s Local Union #45. He was an avid Miami Dolphins fan and enjoyed collecting Budweiser memorabilia and watching NASCAR races.
Jim is survived by his son, James Lautenbach of Longmont, CO; grandson, Jackson Lautenbach; father, Robert L. “Bud” (Jayne) Lautenbach of Lakewood Ranch, FL; brother, Russ (Danette) Lautenbach; three sisters, Laura Mackaman, Cynthia Fox and Patricia Lehmer; several nieces and nephews and lifelong companion, Sheila Weeks and her sons, Dan and Andy Weeks. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ann Lautenbach.
