Jason Timothy Patrick Rains, 45, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, February 24, 2011 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with interment at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 pm Wednesday at McLaren’s. Jason was born on March 17, 1965 in Des Moines the son of Thomas Henry Clay and Jo Hanna Boling Rains. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1983. Following graduation he worked for Watters Auto Land in Indianola and currently was working for Willis Cadillac. He was a member of the Good Guys Association and was a talented car builder and metal craftsman. Survivors include his parents of Des Moines; two brothers, Thomas (Leona) Rains of Des Moines; Jeffrey (Jill) Rains of Johnston; two nephews Zach and Sam Rains; several aunts, uncles and cousins; dear friends Ted Lesher and family. Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
