Jeffrey Sherwood

Jeffrey Sherwood, age 64, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023. A Funeral Service with a Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 25th at Soteria Church, 3250 SE Soteria Ave. West Des Moines, IA.

Jeff was born on November 23, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa to Louis and Ruth (Williams) Sherwood. He was a loving, fun man who was known and loved by many. Spending time with his children, grandsons, family, and friends gave him great joy. Jeff loved kids, he was a kid at heart and had a lot of fun being silly with them. Jeff also loved the great outdoors, including camping, fishing, and boating. He was skillful in woodworking, was a great handyman, and was gifted in landscaping. Jeff enjoyed using his many talents when he worked for St. Mark Lutheran Church. One extra special project is his creation of the beautiful children’s garden on display there.

He is survived by his children, Rosemary (Matthew) Green, and Dustin Sherwood; their mother, his friend and former wife, Marilyn Sherwood; his brothers, Mike Sherwood, Pat Sherwood, Tom Sherwood, Dave Sherwood; his sisters, Rosemary Bunce, Linda Sherwood; his four grandsons, Jeremiah, Nehemiah, Elijah, Micah and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by Louis Sherwood, father; Ruth (Williams) Sherwood, mother; Austin Wayne Logsdon, son; Joe Sherwood, brother; Louis aka Butch (Lynn Lavender) Sherwood, brother; Debbie Sherwood, sister.
