Jerry Wayne Ray was born November 6, 1949 in Piedmont, AL to Elvin George Ray and Vadia Alline (Lockridge) and passed away at Mercy hospital in Des Moines, IA on July 31, 2022.
Jerry is survived by his adult children, Brad Allen Ray and Jeri Deann Lancaster. Three grandchildren and one great grandson. His brothers, Elvin George Ray Jr. (Linda) and Michael David Ray (Linda) and sisters Linda Lehman (Jack) and Rita Karen Morgan. Nieces and nephews and SO MANY friends.
Jerry lived most of his life in Des Moines before moving to Fontanelle. He loved searching for old native artifacts and had quite a collection of arrowheads. He grew up working on cars and carpentry work with his Father and brothers. It was rare to find anything that he could not fix but always knew who to contact for help.
Jerry left us much too soon and will be missed by everyone that was lucky enough to know him. The family will have a private gathering at Evergreen Cemetery- Lineville, IA at a later date.
