Many memories of good guy Jon … From the Marshalltown days helping sell hardware at Jon’s True Value Hardware store to helping Jon open College Square Mall Cedar Falls, Iowa in 1969 thru many many other malls ending in 2010 

Jon was humorous … had dignity … and treated people he met with kindness and respect 

Many of us shall remember him for his grace

Claudia and kids, et. al.  Hugs to you all.  I loved Jon.  I was lucky to be a classmate of his in high school, and to have known him since.  A nicer, kinder person has not been born.  You are the beneficiaries of his lifestyle, and those outstanding traits will serve you for the rest of your lives.  I am so sorry to lose him as are you, of course.  All who met him will feel similarly.  How could you not?  Wish I could attend the service.  I would have loved to meet the kids and see Claudia again.  Again, a big hug to you all.

We were recently saddened to hear about Jon from the Metges.  Though we may not have shared many times together, we have appreciated his support.  Please know that our thoughts are with you and your family.

Ann-Mari and I have known Jon for  30 years, and ever since he and Claudia first opened their homes to us and and our children/grandchildren, he has shown himself as a very caring person, always interested in others, very down to earth and always with a smile and a good laughter. We have fantastic memories in the company of Jon and Claudia in Iowa, St. John,  Tortola and Norway, and will cherish these forever. Our deepest
 sympathy to Claudia, Jim and Katie and the rest of your families. Rest in peace, our good friend!

I worked with Jon for about 30 years.  He was a constant innovator and a tremendous business awareness.  He was a friend and mentor to me and many others.  I am saddened by his loss and never forget him!!

Thinking of Claudia and family and remembering the years I was his secretary at General Growth.  He was the best boss and good friend.  Rest in peace, Jon.

I worked at General Growth in the Des Moines office.  Jon was always friendly, kind and generous. Jon let my husband and I stay at his home on St. John’s  Island at no cost. It was a trip we have never forgotten. Our sympathy to Claudia and family.

Jon will be missed.  He was one of those guys who unknowingly touched and made better the lives of his co-workers, associates, and friends, some close and even more of them on the periphery.  It was easy to respect him, and even easier to like him.  And for all the trees he planted where ever he was, he left many a property looking more natural and more beautiful than Nature had presented them to him.

So sorry to hear of Jon’s passing. A great businessman, friend, family man, who always sought out the best in everyone. So many good GGP memories over the years. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.  Our prayers are with Claudia and the family. Rest in peace my friend.
