Joyce Baker, 85, passed away January 4, 2017. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017, at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Joyce was born July 4, 1931, in Mansfield, Louisiana to Lonnie and Jessie (Green) Scott. She loved her family and especially loved painting pottery and playing with all of the grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her children, Linda (Duane) DeBoef, Kelly (Cheri) Baker, and Lonnie Baker; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Jan Baker; parents; two brothers; and one sister.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Legacy Home Orphanage in the Philippines or Hospice Compassus.
