Judith Ann (Bennett) Aschehoug

Judith Ann Bennett Aschehoug, 82, of Granite Bay, California passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, at home after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Judith was born on September 6,1943 in West Des Moines, Iowa to Bruce and Hazel Bennett. After graduating from Valley High School in 1961, Judith attended Northern Iowa University. She met her husband, Trond Aschehoug, in Ames, Iowa and they married in 1967 at her parent’s home.

Judith’s family was her joy. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who loved playing with her grandkids and enjoyed their many different activities. She was always ready to watch another soccer, hockey, or baseball game! Judith’s gardening and horses were special to her, and kept her close to her roots in Iowa farming.

Judith is survived by her husband Trond; daughter Heidi Jo (Kevin) Aschehoug of Fair Oaks, California; son Erik Trond (Daisy) Aschehoug of Nesodden, Norway; daughter Jill Marie (Vince) Aschehoug of Granite Bay, California; sister Jean Engstrom of Stratford, Iowa; sister Sandra Schroeder of Olivia, Minnesota; brother Brian Bennett of West Des Moines, Iowa; and her grandchildren Gabrielle Aschehoug, Samuel Gallo, Michael Gallo, Woody Aschehoug, Violet Gallo, Lincoln Aschehoug, and great granddaughter Isla Aschehoug. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Judith will be missed immensely.
