Judy Cox, 68, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 15, 2013 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 18 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 19 at Covenant Presbyterian Church in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Judy was born March 7, 1945 to Chester Arthur and Edith Marie Lemery and was raised in Kingston, MO. She was an active member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church and a Gyroette. Judy also helped run the family business, Lee’s Standard. She enjoyed golf, boating, bunko, bridge, traveling, the Iowa State Fair, Lake of the Ozarks, and most of all spending time with her grandkids.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Lee; children, Tim (Danette) Cox and Tammy (Brad) Stracke; grandchildren, Austin, Aundrea, Mackenzie and Blake; and brother, Jim (Carole) Lemery. She is preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Covenant Presbyterian Church or UnityPoint Hospice.
