Lola Ann Myers, born June 2, 1940, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025. She was a dedicated mother, a loving grandmother, and a cherished friend, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Lola was born in Des Moines, Iowa, to her late parents, Celia and Augustine Garcia. She created a home filled with joy and acceptance, upholding the values of compassion and devotion throughout her life.
Lola devoted most of her professional life to childcare. Her patience, warmth, and nurturing spirit touched the lives of countless children and their families over the years. To her family and friends, she was a constant source of unconditional love and kindness, known for her remarkably loving and caring heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell M. Myers, and her siblings Diana Galvan and Jim Garcia.
Lola is survived by her son, Russell Myers, Jr; siblings, Dennis Garcia and Mary Newman; and her granddaughter, Zoe.
A small final farewell will be held on Wednesday, December 11th, at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Mausoleum, 801 19th Street, West Des Moines, IA. A Priest will speak, and anyone who wishes to share a few words to say goodbye to Lola is welcome to do so.
