

Nadine June (Ford) Clausen, age 90 of Des Moines, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Nadine was born on June 3, 1933, in Randall, Iowa to Thelmar (TJ) and Judith (Stensland) Ford. She attended school and graduated from Randall High School in 1952. On July 6, 1958, she was married to Larry (Butch) Clausen, who survives her. Nadine and Butch lived their entire married lives in the Des Moines area. Nadine retired from Grand Towers in 1986 after years of housekeeping.
Nadine always said that her greatest achievement was raising her two children. She loved her family fiercely and was known by all for her kind, sweet, loving personality. She always looked forward to her weekly shopping trips with Renee to the Dollar Tree and Walmart. In recent years she started doing diamond art and spent many hours at the kitchen table working on those. She was also an avid reader.
Nadine is survived by her husband Butch; her children, Rod (Shelly) Clausen and Renee (Dave) Nestvedt; four grandchildren, Megan (Josh) Siske, Jared Clausen, Derrick Nestvedt, Nicole Nestvedt; six great-grandchildren, Easton, Brooks and Boston Siske, Leah Boyd, Jayden Juarez, and Mackenah Nestvedt. She is also survived by four sisters, Beverly Skadburg, Shirley (John) Ross, Joyce Koestner and Bonnie Butler, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelmar (TJ) and Judith Ford and an infant grandson, Brett Michael Clausen.
A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with a memorial service immediately following at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel (801 19th Street, West Des Moines). A private family burial will be held at a later date.
