Nancy Filling, 77, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Visitation with her family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel. A private family graveside service will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Nancy was born in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Benjamin and Loraine Bennett. She was a member of First Christian Church where she was involved in numerous activities. Nancy also loved spending time with her grandsons and great-granddaughters.
Nancy is survived by two sons, Jeff (Cathy) Filling of West Des Moines and Mark Filling of Windsor Heights; two grandsons, Jacob of West Des Moines and Benjamin (Stephanie) of Ankeny; four great-granddaughters, Delaney, Macey, Jadyn, and Mackenzie; three sisters, Ruth Sutton, Harriette Thompson and Lynn Bennett; and her brother, Hal Bennett. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert (Bob) Filling and her son, Robert.
