Marshalltown
Paul E. Erickson, 85, passed away June 22, 2015 at the Veterans Home in Marshalltown. A memorial visitation will be held at McLaren’s Chapel, 801 - 19th Street in West Des Moines, on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 1 to 3 p.m. Burial will be at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
Paul was born November 20, 1929 to Olof and Bertha Erickson of Stratford, IA. He was in the U.S. Air Force and married his wife, Mary Mardis, during that time. After retirement, he worked as a school crossing guard for the West Des Moines school system, a job he dearly loved.
Paul is survived by his wife Mary, who is also at the Veterans Home in Marshalltown; son, Steve of Gilbert, AZ; sister, Lois (Al) Maupin of Johnston; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold of Pilot Mound and Roy of Des Moines; and a sister, Betty Bergman of Des Moines.
