Robert "Bob" Deeds

Formerly of Des Moines

Robert Eugene Deeds, 89, went home to our Lord April 19, 2016 in Texas where his daughter Cathy lives. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016, at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines, IA followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at funeral home.

Bob was born January 22, 1927 in Pollock, MO to Vivian and Wilma (Tipton) Deeds. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII. He lived most of his life in Des Moines, IA and met his wife, Iris Sexe, at the Iowa State Fair. Bob also worked for Frye Manufacturing in Des Moines. He dearly loved God, family/friends, nature, animals, country and gospel music and had a strong work ethic.

Bob is survived by daughter, Cathy (Mike) Fisher; son, Paul; daughter-in-law, Donna Deeds; three grandchildren, Christina (Chris) Noah; Brian (Maria) Deeds and Jessica (Chris) Campbell; three great-grandchildren, Aimee Deeds, John Michael Noah, and Savannah Raye Noah (due in May).

He was preceded in death by wife, Iris; three children, Steve, infants, Steven Douglas and Barbara Jean; mother, Wilma (Deeds) Courtney; father, Vivian; step-father, Bert Courtney; sister, Vivian Allean Williams; and two brothers, Jay and James Laverne Deeds.
