Todd Robert Gustafson, 49, of West Des Moines, Iowa, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at St. Mark Lutheran Church (1105 Grand Ave. West Des Moines, IA 50265) with entombment at Resthaven Mausoleum. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.
Todd was born on February 28, 1969, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Robert and Rita (Peterson) Gustafson. The family moved to West Des Moines in 1980, where he graduated from Valley High School. Todd was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Growing up he was in 4-H and played soccer until high school. He achieved the highest degree of boy scouts, the Eagle Scout; with whom he enjoyed going on many camping trips. Todd liked playing table top games with friends, spending time on technology and traveling anytime he got the opportunity.
Todd is survived by his mother, Rita of West Des Moines; siblings: Carmen Gustafson of West Des Moines, Joann Thomas of Des Moines and brother Brian Gustafson of Marion, Ohio; along with many extended aunts, uncles and cousins, all whom were very important to Todd. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert and brother-in-law, Mike Thomas.
Memorials may be directed to the ARL or any animal charity in Todd’s name.
