Virginia “Ginny” Kay Beaver, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 31, 2026. Services will be held in the Chapel at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines at 11 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2026 with lunch to follow. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery after the luncheon.
Ginny was an amazing woman that was loved by so many. She had a love of cars, crafts, coffee, family and movies. Her smile would light up any room and the sparkle in her eye was filled with joy and love, and once in a while, orneriness.
She had an outstanding 43-year career at CDS Global and retired as a Quality Control Clerk in 2017. Of course, her work was so stellar, they invited her back to work part time from home for a few more years. In her retirement, she took up crafting, creating beautiful things that she gifted to many people. She was never afraid to try something new. She just loved creating, whether it was a good meal or a new craft, she could turn ordinary into extraordinary.
Her life really took an amazing turn when she was reunited with her daughter, Gina. Meeting her, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren filled her life with a piece that had been missing for so long. Their relationship grew deeper with each passing day and was truly a blessing.
Ginny was baptized as a young baby. She always had a faith, but it really took off at the end of 2017 when, during a prayer, she felt God tugging on her shirt. He got her attention and she pursued him and built a relationship with the Lord all the rest of her days. She had her baptism affirmed in 2021 and she knew she was safe in the Lord’s care.
Ginny loved her family and spent a great deal of time with her sister, Melissa. They took many adventures together. They became the best of friends, and the word sister was just insufficient to describe their relationship.
She loved to travel and see new things. Time with family was important and the trips she took with family were her favorite. Cruises, train rides, Disney, Gatlinburg and Mount Rushmore to name a few.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Beaver, as well as her parents, Lenora and Richard Bundy; and sister-in-law, Sue Bundy. She is survived by her brother, Lee Bundy; sister, Melissa Dale; daughter, Gina (Doug) Still; stepsons, Rob (Angela) Beaver and Gary (Maria) Beaver; grandchildren, Taylor (Bo) Greene, Hallie (Dylan) Callstrom, Haley (Scott) Wallace, Makena (Payton) Leis, Dylan (Karen) Beaver, Anna Beaver, Sophia Beaver, Henry Beaver, and Jimmy Beaver; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She will be so very missed by all who loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
