Edward, Ed, Kuta, Geuch, Bebe, Bleeb, Blub, Edweird, ... a man with several nicknames and loved by many. Born in Freeland, PA on June 15th, 1940, he was the son of the late Andrew and Olga Makuta. Ed grew up in New Jersey and graduated from St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth. He earned two Master's Degrees, one in Theology and one in English. Ed taught English for several years at Xavier all boys High School in NYC. He was a kind and gentle person who loved nature, cooking(he was an excellent chef!), animals and a connoisseur of wine. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots and loved watching the games and talking about the teams. As an accomplished author, writing was his passion and he published several books, short stories and novellas.
Ed loved spending time with his late dogs Anaphora and Lucky. He enjoyed taking strolls along the Cape Cod National Seashore, Grays Beach and patrolling wildlife sanctuaries on the Cape. Ed lived life with an incredible sense of humor and it was a joy to be in his presence.
