Janet was born in Melrose, MA and graduated from Notre Dame Academy. After attending Salve Regina in Newport, RI, she graduated from Westfield State University. Though she was born and raised in Massachusetts, her heart was never confined to one place. She was drawn to the spirit and beauty of the Hawaiian Islands, where she found not only peace, but also love. It was a chapter of her life marked by courage and adventure.
Later she returned home to Massachusetts for the birth and raising of her son Christopher but kept a connection to Hawaii. She poured her love into others in the quietest, most meaningful ways. Her love could be seen in the little things such as never missing a birthday, always sending cards filled with glitter, confetti, and handwritten notes. Janet had her own unique style with everything that demonstrated how much she cared about people. She had a generous spirit and a big heart, especially towards her son Christopher.
Janet was an active member of Holy Trinity Church in West Harwich. One thing she treasured was that she was able to go on a pilgrimage to Italy with the Church even though her health was declining.
Janet is survived by her son Christopher La Bonte, mother Diane F. La Bonte, brother John La Bonte and his wife Kristin, her niece and goddaughter Jessica, and her three nephews Anthony, Ryan, and Andrew.
