Rose Mae Luedeker (Sylvia)

Rose M. Luedeker beloved wife of Ralph Luedeker went home to God on March 2, 2021. She lived a loving caring life. Born in South Dennis, MA she was the daughter of the late Eugene J. and Frances (Rose) Sylvia.

Rose lived in South Dennis all of her life. She built her home on the property of the family homestead.

She attended school in Dennis and continued on to Yarmouth High School where she was an honor student and was inducted into the National Honor Society. After graduation Rose started her working career at Sears Roebuck & Co. as a bookkeeper and continued to work for Sears for 33 years. Rose also worked for the VNA after her retirement from Sears.

Rose loved the outdoors and especially caring for her property. You could find her outside on her knees weeding her plantings meticulously picking every weed the eye could see.

She especially enjoyed going for country drives with her loving husband Ralph.

Rose was a faithful communicant of Holy Trinity Church in West Harwich where she participated in the life of her church as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Adorer of Eucharistic Adoration and the Catholic Charities. She will always be in our hearts. She made a difference in the lives of her family and friends.

Rose will truly be missed. The family would like to share something that Rose wrote and lived by.

Rose is survived by her sister, Lena Almeida (Manual) of New Bedford, MA, her brother Joseph Sylvia (Trixie) of Lake Placid, FL and many godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by her sisters Mary who passed in 2020, Catherine (David), Jennie Sylvia Fernandes (Joseph, Jr.), brothers; Jack (Palmira), Augustus (Lena) and Eugene, Jr. (Gertrude) and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Doane, Beal & Ames, 260 Main Street (Route 28), West Harwich, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Church, 246 Main Street (Route 28), West Harwich on March 18 2021 at 11:00am. Burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Route 134, South Dennis following the Mass.
