Scott Stackhouse Raabe

14 marzo, 1958 – 13 mayo, 2025
Obituario de Scott Stackhouse Raabe
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Doane Beal & Ames

Scott Stackhouse Raabe, of Harwich, MA passed away on May 13, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), a rare, atypical form of parkinsonism. He was 67 years old.

Scott was born on March 14, 1958 in Orange, NJ to Roderick & Gracia “Bunny” Raabe. He grew up in Short Hills, NJ, graduating from the Pingry School in 1976. He continued his education at the University of Hartford and later UMASS Boston. His early working years allowed him to pursue his passion for woodworking and fine carpentry. He began his career at The RMR Group in 1993 where he worked as a building engineer for almost three decades, managing commercial properties and forming close bonds with many colleagues and tenants. Throughout his career, he maintained his ties to carpentry through personal projects and will be remembered as the ultimate handyman by family and friends whom he was always eager to help over the years.

He married his loving wife, Lisa in 1985 and nothing brought him more joy than becoming a dad to his daughter, Katie in 1989 and his son, Chris in 1993. He and Lisa raised their children in Holliston, MA before ultimately retiring to Harwich on Cape Cod in 2020, where his dog, Ollie was never far from his side.

Scott was a natural athlete and competitor, participating in many activities over the years, but especially enjoying lacrosse and tennis. As a dad and uncle, he shared his love of sports through pickup games and backyard practice. Many weekends were spent skiing, camping, and hiking with his family.

His love for Cape Cod began in the 70s when his family began spending summers in Chatham. Some of his favorite moments with his brothers and friends were spent on the water there boating, fishing, and water skiing. He enjoyed long days on the Outer Beach, bodysurfing in the waves. His love of the Cape was something he shared with his own family and they’ll miss him so much on every future beach day and boat trip.

Scott will be remembered most fondly for his candid sense of humor and generous spirit. He was energetic, outgoing, and reminded us all not to take life too seriously. He was strong-willed, had a sharp mind, and was always true to himself. He never said no to a dessert menu or a bowl of ice cream. He was one of a kind.

He is survived by his devoted wife of almost 40 years, Lisa, his daughter, Katie of Reading, MA and his son, Chris of Brooklyn, NY. He also leaves behind his mother, Bunny of Sarasota, FL, his three brothers and their wives, Rick and Lauren of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Craig and Cyndi of Johnson, VT, and Todd and Krista of Harwich, MA; and his in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Scott was preceded in death by his father in 2008.

Donations can be made in Scott’s honor to Mission MSA. A private celebration of life will be held on Cape Cod on June 7th.
