Josephine (Patsy) Koehler. Age 78 of North Babylon, NY. Passed away on Wednesday December 6th 2017, ultimately from a broken heart. She was predeceased by her beloved husband James (Jim) Koehler, who passed just 3 years ago. She is survived by her heart-broken children, Jim and Donna Koehler, Jeanie and Dr. K.V. Krishnasastry, and Annie and John Feminella. She was blessed by her grandchildren John and Courtney Feminella, Stephen and Christina Feminella, Mary Feminella, Dev Krishnasastry, Tara Krishnasastry, Kathleen Koehler, Richard Koehler, and Maya and David Thuroff. Followed by her biggest reason for living - her great-grandchildren Reagan, John, Benjamin, Annabelle, Vivienne, Caraline, Nathaniel, and Angelina. She was predeceased by her loving and devoted sister Catherine (Kitty) Mathieu. Also survived by her sister and best friend Mary (Mickey) Gossman. She is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, and young people who called her grandma.
Patsy grew up in the Bronx and once upon a time, she met her prince, Jim, and they lived happily ever after. They left behind a kingdom filled with faith, love, laughter, forgiveness, and wisdom. They were truly divine people who have touched the lives of everybody they encountered. She created the ultimate “neighborhood house” where all the kids hung out and felt loved, welcomed, and accepted. She was regarded as everybody’s second mom, and everyone else’s’ grandma.
She was a devout Catholic and an exemplary Christian, jokingly referred to as the “flying nun” by many of her nephews. Her family is comforted in knowing that her favorite saint, Saint Anthony has taken her by the hand and guided her back into the loving arms of our Lord.
