Amy Caroline Jackson LaTouche was born at 9 a.m. on August 1, 1940 in Content Gap, St. Andrew, Jamaica, West Indies to Henrietta and Steadman Jackson and transitioned on May 10, 2022. The fourth of seven children, she was a very dynamic family-oriented person who touched the lives of many during her life’s journey. Her early education was at Content Gap Elementary School.
She worked in Kingston for some time before being sponsored and migrating to the United States. She resided in White Plains, New York where she studied and received her CNA. She spent most of her working years in New York before relocating to West Palm Beach, Florida.
Amy was married twice to Ralston Brissett in 1966 and later to Keith LaTouche in 1980. She was the darling mother to four children, Jacqueline, Marlene, Sharon and Garfield. She was considered the “Moses” of our family as she sponsored 4 of her 6 siblings and their families to the United States. Amy’s genuine love for family and people in general will be missed but will always live on in our hearts. May the good Lord bless and keep Amy in his loving arms.
