Andrew S. Miller received his heavenly crown on September 27, 2025, carried home by the same unwavering faith that guided him throughout his life. Born on July 28, 1934, in Barnwell, South Carolina, he often spoke of his birthplace with such fondness that it should surely be marked as one of the most cherished places on our nation’s map.
In 1938, Andrew Miller moved with his family to Jupiter, Florida, where he was raised in a nurturing home built on love and values. He was the beloved son of Peter Miller and Winnie C. Miller, and the brother of Edna Mae Miller, all of whom preceded him in death.
Andrew Miller was a proud 1953 graduate of Roosevelt High School, and pursued further education at Palm Beach Community College and the New England School of Technology. A true patriot, he honorably served his country in both the United States Air Force and Army, where he received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal in recognition of his dedication and service.
Professionally, Andrew Miller held meaningful careers with Lockheed Missile and Space, Pratt and Whitney (where he served faithfully for 23 1/2 years), and later with Fidelity Federal. But if you asked him, Andrew Miller would say that his greatest accomplishment was becoming a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. His spiritual journey began in 1946 and was furthered in 1957 when he became a member of the Church of Christ. His faith never wavered; even when his health did, he still made his way to church, a quiet testament to his enduring devotion. His unwavering faith shaped every part of his life.
Over the years, Andrew Miller became affectionately known as “Bunkie,” a nickname that stuck as firmly as the love he shared with those around him. He had a fondness for hats, relished a good meal with family and friends, and was always quick with a deep, contagious belly laugh. At church, he provided the second sermon as he responded back to the preacher which was a reflection of the joy he held in his faith. One of his favorite sayings was “Yes, indeedy,” and he had a tender habit of calling the women in his life “doll,” a simple word that somehow said it all.
Andrew Miller loved his family deeply and made it a priority to be present during meaningful moments in their lives. He leaves behind a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom he cherished deeply.
He was also blessed with a special group of faithful friends and caregivers who stood by his side throughout his life’s journey. We give heartfelt thanks and honor to Audrey Freeman, Doris Savage, Frances Smith and her family (including her late husband Clinton Smith, Andrew's best friend, and their daughter Cassandra Burney), Tom and Thelma Alvin, Pamela Johnson, his Christ Family Worship Assembly Church, and the Community Church of the Palm Beaches.
In love, Andrew Miller also adopted two children into his heart: his beloved Goddaughter Rashel Johnson, and his devoted son Daryl Leonard.
He now joins the great cloud of witnesses, having fought the good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith. His legacy lives on in the hearts of the Riviera Beach and West Palm Beach community, the many who called him family, friend or brother in Christ, and all who were touched by his smile, his beautiful way of speaking, and his faithfulness.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 9:00am at Christ Family Worship Assembly, 1128 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Riviera Beach, Florida 33404. A Celebration of life will occur at 10:00am at the same location. A committal service will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, 5601 Greenwood Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33404. Services are entrusted to Royal Palm Funeral Home.
