Bobbie Robbins Wright, born on August 13, 1953 in Fort Davis, Alabama, fulfilled her purpose and calling on Earth on September 24, 2025 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Her life was a testament to faith, service and dedication - both to her family and her community.
Bobbie was the beloved daughter of Ida Mae Robbins and the late Eugene Isadore Robbins. She spent her early years in Fort Davis, Alabama where she developed a deep connection to the land and a lifelong love for gardening. Growing up on a farm instilled in her not only a strong work ethic but also a green thumb that would become one of her most cherished gifts. Whether it was sweet potatoes, collard greens or even pineapples, Bobbie cultivated an abundant garden that provided nourishment for both body and spirit. Many were blessed by the flowers she grew and the produce she generously shared.
Her educational journey took her from Alabama to New York, where she graduated from Walton High School in the Bronx. She explored studies at airline school, nursing school and trade school before excelling in careers that showcased her great people skills and gifted hands.
Bobbie’s professional life was marked by leadership and excellence. She served as a long-time Production Line Supervisor at AT&T (formerly South Central Bell) in Louisiana. Later, she brought her talents to the Florida Department of Corrections in West Palm Beach, where she enjoyed a long career as a Clerical Office Supervisor until her retirement. In every role she held, Bobbie was known for her diligence and integrity.
A woman of deep faith, Bobbie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a young age and remained devoted to God throughout her life. She faithfully served at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Fort Davis, Alabama, Pineville Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana and Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, Florida. Her spiritual commitment was evident in her faithful prayer life, her worship and her actions including serving on the Mission Ministry, Decorating Committee and Hospitality Ministry.
Bobbie had a heart for service that extended far beyond her immediate circle. She lived out her beliefs through acts of kindness and compassion. She regularly visited senior saints offering companionship, meals and friendship. During the holidays, she designed and distributed specially made Christmas baskets for seniors and Easter baskets for children - small gestures that left lasting impressions on those who were blessed to receive them.
Baking with love was one of her passions, often blessing loved ones with their favorite cake or pie on their special day and families with baked treats during their time of bereavement. She was an avid sports fan off and on the field, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Heat, she was even a formidable player on her company's softball team. Bobbie loved the peacefulness of fishing so much that it was a weekly activity at one time during her life, even catching a forty-five-pound gar fish while boating on Cross Lake in Louisiana. The catch was such a feat that it garnered the attention of the local media.
She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her mother Ida Mae Robbins, daughters Jacqueline Robbins and Shamika Gibbs (Ivan), granddaughter Tijah Gibbs, sister Elaine Phillips, nephew Rahim Samad, cousins Jennifer Cheatham, Jeff Doll III (Karlette), Ronald Fields, Gary Fitzpatrick and Jesse Fitzpatrick, Yorkshire terrier pet dog Leo Wright, along with a host of extended family and friends.
She is reunited in eternal rest with those who preceded her: father Eugene Isadore Robbins, uncle Sebron B. Fitzpatrick Jr. (Lucille), aunt Marinda Annette Doll (Jeff), grandparents Sebron B. Fitzpatrick Sr. and Elzie Horton Fitzpatrick and other family and friends.
Bobbie Robbins Wright’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, selfless service and boundless generosity. Her hands nurtured gardens that fed many, her heart nurtured relationships that uplifted countless lives and her kind spirit left an indelible mark on all. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
